PostSubject: History and Legend - King Desmond   Sun Mar 16, 2014 12:15 pm

King Desmond Nervala, also known as "The Shifting Darkness" was the founder of the Illius. King Desmond was known for his godlike Dark magics which knew no limits. Shocking the greatest wizards by mastering the hardest of Dark magics at the age of 9 and mastering all other magical spells at the same time.

During the stalemate of the eight nations, King Desmond retreated to the mountains of Illius to train, later surpassing his previous capabilities. He eventually transcended human capabilities and became somewhat like a god and was later confronted by the Immortal Nergal, whom gifted him with his Regalia. He later challenged Nergal to a duel, to which he was easily defeated and was capable of landing only one successful hit against him with the use of his Regalia. After his defeat, Nergal commended him for being able to unleash Apocalyxia's true power but told him he would die after 8 days. It was from here that he immediately rushed back to his kingdom and within those 8 days, he had managed to pass down as much knowledge as he could as well write many of spell books that still exist in Illius even today.

He later vanished, never to return leaving his son Desmond II heir to the throne. Until today, his strategies and tactics in warfare as well as Dark magics are still being taught today in Illius. And even today, nobody has still found his corpse or final resting place. But legends say that wherever he rests, the Regalia Apocalyxia must be with him, keeping him company as well as waiting for it's next true master...
