Greetings to all! As the topic says, the site is in dire need of a GFX designer(s). Should you apply any time now, you will most likely be accepted given that you show the capabilities of GFX designing. Did I forget to mention that your position will be that of an Admin? So what are you waiting for? Apply now!

"Blink" Empty

I think I'm going to stick to doing these short stories. I know they lack a lot of detail, but I'm rather awful and explaining things in depth.

Two weeks after the death of Lania and Darion Rev'ar.
The Demons of Rev'ar had all but disbanded since news of the leader's deaths had spread around camp, with many of the mercenary's packing up their gear and leaving in search of opportunities in distant lands. Only a handful of the most loyal soldiers remained to serve their new leader, Aeric. He was different. Colder, and more dangerous than previously seen. Everyone knew what had happened. After countless beatings, lashings, scoldings, and so forth, Aeric snapped. He had bound them before him and strangled them individually. Only the most perceptive mercenary's could see that he wasn't the same person as he was before. There was something else residing in his mind. A truly horrifying entity of rage, and pure insanity. The smart ones were afraid. And rightly so.

Aeric stepped out of his former parents house into the sunlight. It was a warm and peaceful day upon the Arcadian plains, where his parents had chosen to reside. They had owned residencies in each nation, but Aeric always favored this one. Aeric looked around at the desolate and empty camp, making mental notes of the remaining mercenary's. He frowned upon the realization that Malak, the head captain of the company was still here. Malak was a very large man with bulging muscles, and scars covering the right side of his face. For years Malak had been in charge of training Aeric in all manners of combat. For each time Aeric failed to meet standards, he was beaten in plain view of the company by Malak himself. Aeric felt a ripple of rage shoot through his body, remembering all the times he had been brought to near death by that brute of a man. As if on queue, Malak stepped towards Aeric, looking down on him as he had always done. "Your orders, Sir?" Aeric could clearly hear the disgust in Malak's voice. Aeric ignored him, and attempted to walk past. Malak's hand shot out, grabbing the front of Aeric's cloak, and pulling him around to face the brutish and revolting man. "You worthless scum, answer me when I speak to you!", Malak shouted. Aeric smiled weakly, before looking directly into Malak's eyes. "Should you ever attempt to touch me again, I will kill you." Aeric could see the faint flicker of fear within Malak's eyes. At this point, the remaining handful of mercenary's had emerged from their tents to watch the commotion. Malak threw Aeric back, with surprising force. Aeric patted his cloak down, and turned to walk back inside.

That's when he heard the distinct sound of a blade emerging from its scabbard. He could hear two words echoing back and forth within his head. "KILL HIM." Aeric put his hands upon his face, and began to laugh, very softly, before spinning to face Malak. Aeric's eyes had shifted from his usual soft, grey color, to a vivid, swirling red. His face, twisted into an evil and unnerving smile. Aeric sprinted towards Malak, ducking under his first swing with ease, before reaching upwards towards Malak's neck. Aeric could see the fear in Malak's eyes, right before they became glazed and empty. Aeric grabbed Malak's neck, and swung around behind him, pulling down all the while. He could feel the individual cracks as he tore through bone, tendon, and flesh alike. It had all happened so quickly, Aeric was sure that those watching must have missed it. Aeric let go, and felt Malak's body fall to the ground behind him. Aeric stared into the eyes of the shocked mercenary's, smiling eerily all the while. It was from that day onward, that Aeric Rev'ar would be known as, Blink.
